What is it Mr. Novak that frightens you about Mike Huckabee? I tried to figure out what you were trying to say in your article The False Conservative; it does not seem to add up. Here are ten reasons I think you might be scared of him.
- Is it that he is a strong Christian?
- Is it the fact that his convictions haven’t changed to fit what is popular at the time?
- Is it that he is wholeheartedly pro-life?
- Is it that he is against gay marriage?
- Is it that he is not the "establishment" candidate?
- Is it that he gives real answers to questions?
- Is it that he understands and supports our second amendment right to bear arms?
- Is it that he signed the Americans for Tax Reform pledge for no new taxes?
- Is it that he isn’t afraid to talk about a better tax system?
- Maybe it is the simple fact that he will talk to ordinary people. Is that what scares you?
That does not look like someone you should be scared of Mr. Novak. It looks like my view of a good republican candidate.
What would you consider a true conservative?
- Someone who is pro choice? (Thompson, Giuliani)
- Someone who haven’t signed the AFTR pledge?(Thompson, Giuliani)
- Someone who wants to outlaw guns? (Giuliani)
- Someone who wants to allow gay marriage? (Giuliani)
- Someone who has run left of Ted Kennedy? (Romney)
- Someone who changes the convictions just in time to run for president? (Romney)
- Or maybe it is someone who wants to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory? (Paul)
I see some less than conservative republicans, and Fred Thompson who has not given a clear picture of what he stands for. What is it that you see Mr. Novak?
