Dear, NRLC Here's What I Think!

The following is a letter I sent to the NRLC in response to their lack of judgement. I sent this Thursday 11-15-07 in response to an email I received from them. I decided to post it because I think there are many thousands more like me that were once supporters of NRLC, and because I don’t think the NRLC takes my opinion seriously seeing as they did not even have the decency to respond in a quick email. I would not say that I have given up all hope that they will return to there convictions some day, but I can only hope that day comes before too much damage is done to the right to life movement I care for so much.

Dear, National Right To Life Committee

I think you have exhibited very poor judgement in endorsing Fred Thompson. He may be all for over turning Roe V Wade but just last week he stated on TV that he was, always had been, and always would be against a Life amendment to the constitution. He is a Constitutionalist, which is only a good start. He is not even close to being the best candidate on this issue. Mike Huckabee for example has said several times he would do everything in his power to overturn Roe V Wade, and said many times that his pro-life convictions are what made him get into politics. I had been hoping that you would endorse him, there is no doubt in my mind that any of the republicans will be better on several issues than the democrats so I will fall in line in the general election with whoever gets the nomination. This being the primary season we have a choice, we could push forward the best candidate that matches our convictions. I could not with clear conscience vote for Fred Thompson over Mike Huckabee, and I certainly hope that you have made your choice with a clear conscience and not because you think he has the "best chance to win." I don't really understand how you can call yourselves the best pro-life organization in the country and support a candidate that will not support what you said you stand for. It disheartens me greatly to see that the organization that I could align myself with, and trust has now alienated me in such a way.
